Hello! My name is Cathy Meinhold, I relocated to the Capital Region a year ago from Long Island, NY, where I worked as a children’s library assistant and programmer.

I have always loved being immersed in nature, learning new things and experimenting with different arts and crafts materials. I believe in creative expression and encouraging children to explore and get dirty, but it wasn’t until I became a grandmother that I really began to consider these philosophies as potential programs.

As a caregiver for my granddaughter, I learned about sensory play, the forest preschool movement, process art and the importance of child-led activities for the physical and intellectual development of young children. I used this knowledge to develop a diverse slate of activities at the library.

As my family finalized a long anticipated moved to this community, I knew that I had to find a way to continue sharing my passion with families.
